SCT PowerCAMPUS Solutions
In fulfilling the Company’s mission “To design, develop, implement, and support technology applications in the form of solutions that serve the needs of individual educational institutions,” SCT PowerCAMPUS must provide the software and services necessary to help faculty and administrators better serve the needs of their customers—students. Today, students and faculty members expect institutions to provide “anytime, anywhere” connectivity to the information and services they need to meet their teaching and learning objectives, regardless of the size of the institution’s IT staff or budget. Administrators need reliable data processing, reporting and communications functionality to deliver “real-time” information to help manage campus operations and make good business decisions.
As a single-source solutions provider, SCT PowerCAMPUS strives to develop leading-edge software applications that live up to the expectations of all members of the campus learning community and can be implemented and supported cost-effectively by institutions, both small and large. Through experience, SCT PowerCAMPUS has discovered that partnering with other best-in-class software providers is the quickest and most cost-effective way to achieve that goal. SCT PowerCAMPUS accomplishes this by leveraging industry-standard technologies including Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, MS Office applications, and MS Digital Dashboard technology; Microsoft SQL Server and Open Data Base Compliance (ODBC); Message Application Program Interface (MAPI) for e-mail systems; Internet Protocol (IP) for network communications; and Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) and Extensible Markup Language (XML) formats for World Wide Web applications. PowerCAMPUS functionality is enhanced with interfaces to Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics and eEnterprise software for general ledger, finance, and human-resource applications, and CUES PowerFAIDS financial-aid software from the College Board. Standard tools are easily applied across all three of these SQL Server-based systems to create unique queries, reports, entry screens, and processes. These tools include Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Crystal Reports, or Sybase’s PowerBuilder. Dynamic cross-platform reports in graphic format can be created using the SCT PowerCAMPUS Dashboard, which is based on Microsoft’s Digital Dashboard technologies.
SCT PowerCAMPUS PRODUCT VISION
The SCT PowerCAMPUS® suite of student- and administrative-information software includes workflows developed to support the operations and management of the admissions, registration, academic plan, course management, student records, student life, billing, cash receipts, and advancement processes. These workflows are supported by a single, people-centric database system that follows a student (or staff member) from the point of first contact with the institution throughout what can become a life-long affiliation. The SCT PowerCAMPUS vision for new product development is focused on the continual evolution and application of technology in support of a synergistic relationship between a student and the institution during the student’s life-long learning odyssey.
SCT PowerCAMPUS SERVICES VISION
The TeamSCT approach to professional services integrates the knowledge and experience of traditional customer support, user training and implementation groups. Staff members are organized into cross-functional service teams that are assigned to specific SCT PowerCAMPUS client institutions. TeamSCT will improve the efficiency of SCT PowerCAMPUS resource management, provide incentives for TeamSCT professionals to meet and exceed the service levels for their specified client institutions, and enable clients to develop closer working relationships with the SCT PowerCAMPUS personnel who serve as extensions to their busy IT staff.
