ABT Ships New Versions of PowerCAMPUS Student- and Administrative-Software Products
Newtown Square, PA June 29, 2001 – ABT, Inc. today announced that it has shipped a new version of its PowerCAMPUS student-and administrative-software product to the Company’s education-institution licensees. The ABT PowerCAMPUS Release 4.00 product suite includes modules for the admissions, academic records, billing, cash receipts, and advancement offices, as well as Release 2.00 of IQ.Web, a suite of integrated MS Internet Information Server applications.
The new PowerCAMPUS release contains significant system enhancements, including compliance with MS Windows 2000, SQL Server Release 7.0, and source-code compliance with Sybase’s PowerBuilder 7.00 software development platform. End users will benefit from new integrated e-mail services that support the broadcasting of messages and documents to members of the campus community, as well as from a new interface designed to support the administration of continuing education programs.
The new IQ.Web software combines the functionality of its two parent products, IQ.Student and IQ.Faculty. In addition, the re-architected IQ.Web system features enhanced security, user-role-specific menus, an intuitive interface, and a content management system that leverages the PowerCAMPUS SQL Server relational database. New functionality includes a content-management-system wizard that faculty members can use to post, for example, a course syllabus, learning materials and/or other information in any standard electronic-file format. Institutions also have the option to license an integrated online-payment-service (OPS) module that enables students to pay for their courses online with a credit or debit card. Additional e-commerce interfaces for the OPS module are planned for future releases of IQ.Web.
