2001 ABT Computer User Group Conference Sparked by Attendance of Prospective Clients and Discussion of new Software Release Capabilities.
Newtown Square, PA July 20, 2001 – Last week users of ABT PowerCAMPUS student- and administrative-information systems attended the 2001 ABT Computer User Group Conference at Colorado Christian University in Denver, Colorado. Also attending this year were an unprecedented number of prospective users of the software, reflecting the significant increase in education market activity since last year.
Keynote presentations by ABT Founder and President David Moldoff and the President of The Teaching, Learning and Technology Group, Steve Gilbert, were followed by two days of presentations and roundtable sessions for admissions, academic records, accounting and finance, advancement and system administration professionals. The Conference concluded Friday morning with the election of new Computer User Group officers for the 2001-2001 academic calendar with the President-Elect, Dr. Laurie Watts, the Director of Information Services for New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Prospective Users See ABT Through CUG Members’ Eyes
One institution from New Mexico, one from Colorado and a third from Maryland invested in a trip to this year’s CUG Conference in order to gain a better understanding of how well ABT supports – and listens to – its current clients. “When you’re considering an investment of at least a quarter-million dollars in a company’s software products, the cost of attending that company’s user conference is money well spent,” says one representative. “You know that a vendor will treat you well during the sales process, but the real question is how they will treat you after you send them the money. Here I can speak with dozens of ABT clients with similar academic and administrative goals and get a truly objective view of their policies, their people, and their business practices.”
New Release Functionality Well-Received by Users
Just a week ahead of this year’s conference, ABT shipped a major new release of the Company’s flagship software products, PowerCAMPUS Release 4.00 and IQ.Web Release 2.0. Technology sessions at the Conference were packed as ABT software developers and quality assurance team members walked system administrators through the new features and functions.
